Mission StatementThe mission of the South Carolina Psychological Association is to promote awareness, understanding, and competence practice involving issues of human diversity within the organization, amongst its members, and throughout the state. The mission involves regularly evaluating the ability of SCPA to effectively serve underrepresented groups, providing training and consultation on diversity related issues, fostering collaborative relationships with professional organizations that serve the interest of underrepresented groups, and developing strong relationships between SCPA, its members, and communities throughout South Carolina. The mission also includes encouraging the recruitment of psychologists from underrepresented groups to South Carolina and into membership and leadership positions in SCPA. Vision StatementMany Faces and Places: One SCPA, One South Carolina The diversity vision of the South Carolina Psychological Association is to support and empower psychologists and the communities they serve in successfully managing the opportunities and challenges of a diverse society in the 21st century in a manner that acknowledges and appreciates human differences and recognizes our common personhood.
